Day 10 and 11: Goodbye Scotland

23 juli 2017 - Assen, Nederland

Hiya!

Yesterday we had to start our travel home again. We woke up early to have an early breakfast and finished packing. After that we cleaned our room and the kitchen we could use, and played our last games at the campsite. At around a quarter to ten Pam brought us to the train station to catch our bus (the tracks were being worked on so the trains weren’t driving). We said goodbye, and she thanked us for our work. We got on the bus, which was very busy, and travelled to Carlisle. There we got on the train to Newcastle upon Tyne. We arrived about three hours before we could take the bus to the boat, so we grabbed some lunch and wandered around some. Luckily for us, there was also a bus one hour before ours, so we took that one, and could check in without a rush. A government official for the bureau of statistics stopped us when we were walking towards our boat and asked us some questions about our stay, and then we were on the boat. We dropped our luggage in our cabin, and then sat down in the lighthouse café to drink something and play some games. Afterwards we had dinner in our cabin and just relaxed there. In the evening, we went to the café again to play some more games, and then went stargazing on the deck. We also listened to the live music before going to bed.

This morning we got up at eight o’clock Dutch time, but for us it still felt as seven. We had breakfast and packed our stuff again. At ten we could get off of the boat, and my dad was there to pick us up. After another two and a half to three hours, we were home.

This was the end of my Scottish adventure, hope you’ve enjoyed my blogs.
