Day 4

23 juli 2017 - Marthrown of Mabie, Verenigd Koninkrijk

Hello again!

Our second day was spend mostly finishing up the things we had done yesterday. Our main task was repainting and redecorating a bunk house on the camping and, against all expectations, we finished it today. We had some setbacks though: we ran out of paint for the main room of the bunkhouse and had to go get some new (which, mind you, is pretty difficult as we are located in the middle of a forest, and one of our brushes spontaneously fell apart, which meant that we had to spend about half an hour plucking hairs from the still-drying paint. Afterwards we cleaned the whole room thoroughly. All in all we were all very proud of our work.

Most of our breaks and time after four o’clock, when we’ve finished our work, we spend in the main area, a nice dining room all the guests share. Here we eat or play games with each other. We meet quite a few guests during this time, some of which are pretty entertaining. Take for example a nice German guy with whom we had a nice conversation or the (pretty drunk) guy who played the guitar (which he could not play) while singing about Holland (there was a stag party on the grounds which explains why he was drunk).

I do have to say, Pam, Steve and Mike were very happy with our work. Especially Pam, who confessed that she didn’t like the room very much until now. This made me very happy to hear, because I feel that we are useful to the campsite here, which is important to me.

Tomorrow we’ll have the day off, so hopefully the weather is nice!
